The vines have been worked here for more than 2000 years: a tradition initiated by the city's notables at the beginning of the 1st century during the reign of Augustus, favoured by a temperate oceanic climate favourable to the cultivation of the vines and a sunny climate ensuring a good maturity of the grapes.
